Michelle Ma Art Donation AIS Cancer Society

In recognition of the needs of the community we live in and in appreciation of this wonderful country we live in, I am delighted to be donating a artwork to The Australian International School Parent’s Association who are raising funds for The Singapore Cancer Society with their annual "The Biggest Morning Tea" Fundraiser event.

One of my family members' life was taken due to breast cancer. As an artist, I would like to contribute with my own effort to the society hoping the world could become better. As a result I am happy to be donating my 'Being With You' painting to help raise money for
The Singaporean Cancer Society. A foundation institution in our community, providing services of hospice, cancer diagnosis and support programs for those in need for over 51 years.

The event will be taking place at The Kensington Ballroom at the Serangoon Gardens Country Club on Thursday May 26th from 10am-2pm. It will include a sponsorship vendor’s market, a fashion show, lucky dip prize table, raffle, silent auction, nibbles, coffee and champagne all in an attempt to fundraise for the SCS.  This year's focus will be the “Look Good and Feel Better” and the morning will include a very touching “make over” fashion show where recovered Singaporean Cancer patients are dressed in Fashion Sponsor’s clothes, handbags and accessories.

Creation inspiration for the art body

Elephant being among the world's most intelligent animals with strong family ties, they not only express a wide variety of behaviour including strong association with learning, playing (which is AIS' value appreciated by the community), but also one of the most closely knit societies of any living species showing their compassion, cooperation and communication, which is the value we appreciate in a society today such as the charity event organized by AIS and SCS.

I created the portrait of the elephant with many layers and colours with expressive strokes by palette knife to celebrate the life and elephant as animals, their relationship with human being after living on the earth for so many centuries.
